Mushroom Seed Nepal and Research Center has been playing a leading role in the research and advancement of the production of mushroom spawns (seeds) and mushroom cultivation in Nepal. It has been producing and distributing spawns of different varieties of mushrooms such as Oyster, Shiitake, and Button throughout Nepal, after being regularly tested on farms.
This organization has been producing spawns by importing pure cultures from other countries and also cultivating wild mushrooms after collecting them from the forest and developing their pure culture. Additionally, this institution is the first in Nepal to cultivate Reishi mushrooms commercially. It has been offering various products made from mushrooms, namely MSN Reishi mushroom powder and Oyster mushroom pickles.
It also sells different dried mushrooms like Oyster, Shiitake, Reishi, and Button. It has been conducting various researches to improve the quality of mushroom spawn, cultivation and preservation of mushrooms in Nepal. It is also jointly carrying out research activities in collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in order to advance the research regarding mushrooms in Nepal.
