MUSHROOM SEED NEPAL AND RESEARCH CENTER

Mushroom Seed Nepal and Research Center has been playing a leading role in the research and advancement of the production of mushroom spawns (seeds) and mushroom cultivation in Nepal. It has been producing and distributing spawns of different varieties of mushrooms such as Oyster, Shiitake, and Button throughout Nepal, after being regularly tested on farms. This organization has been producing spawns by importing pure cultures from other countries and also cultivating wild mushrooms after collecting them from the forest and developing their pure culture. Additionally, this institution is the first in Nepal to cultivate Reishi mushrooms commercially. It has been offering various products made from mushrooms, namely MSN Reishi mushroom powder and Oyster mushroom pickles. It also sells different dried mushrooms like Oyster, Shiitake, Reishi, and Button. It has been conducting various researches to improve the quality of mushroom spawn, cultivation and preservation of mushrooms in Nepal. It is also jointly carrying out research activities in collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in order to advance the research regarding mushrooms in Nepal. HISTORY In 2054, Mr. Akash Bade, director of the Mushroom Seed Nepal and Research Center, started growing mushrooms by purchasing spawn in saline bottles and using a common stove at home. He produced and utilized mushroom spawn in his own farm after receiving training on mushroom spawn production from mushroom expert Dr. Keshari Laxmi Manandhar in 2068. Mushroom Seed Nepal and Research Center was registered in 2071. Since then, it has been successfully manufacturing and selling Oyster, Button, and Shiitake mushroom spawn. The various mushroom studies are currently being researched in collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mushroom Seed Nepal and Research Center for providing practical knowledge to my students of Wings Academy school. I also want to request all of the teachers to provide practical knowledge to the students by organizing field visits.

Shova Shrestha Wings Academy, Bhaktapur

I would like to thank Mushroom Seed Nepal and Research Center for providing us a field visit to the students of Nawaratna English Secondary School about the cultivation process of various mushrooms. It is important to give practical skills and knowledge to the students as books are not enough for delivering excellent knowledge.

Surendra Shrestha Principal, Nawaratna Eng. Sec. School

Our recent visit to the Mushroom Farm was an extraordinary educational experience for our students. They gained invaluable practical knowledge through this visit, which has deepened their understanding of mushroom cultivation. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the mushroom expert Akash Bade for his contribution to our educational journey. His dedication to promoting the health benefits of mushrooms and his efforts in advancing mushroom cultivation practices have left a lasting impact on all of us.
